Redwill: A Bike with a SOUL

Shin’s father wants to gift him a bike on his birthday. Though Shin is a 24yr old, he doesn’t have a ride of his own. For Shin its most needed thing that time. Shin searches all the internet and decides to buy Honda Stunner. But, the fixed doom doesn’t impress Shin’s dad. Shin’s father is more worried about his highly energetic son. He doesn’t want a powerful ride for his son, as he knows his son is crazy. He couldn’t stop his son’s craziness, so he wants to minimize the risk of Shin’s energy levels by minimizing the Engine capacity. Shin’s mom is bit superstitual, and she wants the bike in home on that day as it was auspicious. Its decided any bike below 150cc would do it. They go to Bajaj Showroom, shin isn’t attracted neither was his dad. They move to Honda showroom and none of the bikes made an impression. Finally they move to Yamaha Showroom. 3 bikes kept parallely in the showcase all in Red. Shin stands beside 150cc FZ on the right while his father stands beside 125cc Gladiator which is to the left. They both look eachother and move to the bike in center. Red & Silver classy look but still a beast inside. Shin’s dad didn’t knew it was a 150cc bike, Shin tests it and finds it perfect for him. They pay the money and take it to home. After reaching home, shin’s dad opens the Bike’s manual and reads

YAMAHA SZR 150CC

He was shocked that he bought his son a 150CC bike after all the prevention. Shin was delighted with his new bike and starts biking already. He finds his ride a bit different from others he rode earlier. He feels the power is much more, more than 180CC pulsar. He cleans it daily, till 1^st servicing he doesn’t cross 40KMPH as per instructions. He goes to that nearby waterfall  with his best friends. Everyone like the bike, for his 6’2” height, this tall beast is a perfect ride.

After 1^st servicing Shin changes his Job location to Bliss City. Though its Bliss City he stays at the outskirts of the city. All shin’s school & college mates stay there, so Shin was happy to move his job location. He haven’t tested his ride’s full power yet and he wants to do it in that city. City means Traffic and when it comes to Bliss City its even more, esp near the IT sector area & the university roads. And not to mention city means Girls and those hot ones. Though Shin has a love, he flirts with other girls in a positive manner. He could reach anywhere on time cruising through the traffic. When shin ride his bike, its more like freestyle dancing rather than driving. He has that agility, swift shifting of lanes & a biker’s dream lane splitting. He could do all those comfortablly only on his bike. So he decides to name it and his ride gets the name REDWILL.

Though shin flirts with girls and has many friends in that gender, the first girl to share the ride is his love. He goes on date with her on his redwill esp those long rides beside the lake. He has this ego inside him, no gearless bike overtakes him, if they overtake it must be overtaken. Redwill satisfies Shin’s ego always.

It was dat day when Shin 1^st assumes his redwill has a soul. He goes on a date and is late for his night shift. It was Saturday & evening, traffic is a nightmare at that time. Shin was driving crazily and rashly in that traffic. Shin hates it when he is late. And Redwill hates it when shin isn’t happy.  Shin has this temptation of moving between trucks on the highway. Lanesplitting is always joyful for a biker. Shin was on triple digits on Redwill and just does a lane spilt on that speed. He sees another chance an 18 wheeler trying to overtake another, on almost 90kmph Shin tries to do it, but he hears a voice saying DON’T. He reduces to 50kmph to find a Poth Hole good enough to kill him if he was lane splitting on 90kmph. He encounters many near misses which were always cautioned by that voice. Forests, hills, dusty roads they  drove everything. No road, lets make one, that’s what Shin thought and Redwill always acknowledged him. And stunts are never problem for Shin and Redwill.

Shin had to move on a project to another town. After an year he comes and rides his Redwill. Redwill missed him and the first ride after an year, Shin can feel the power unleashed. He keeps on driving without any thought and he reaches the beach. No no..! Bliss town doesn’t  have a beach, he travelled 450kms to reach the beach, he spends an hour watching the sea, he does want to ride redwill on the ocean too. They return home travelling all the 450kms back. All this on the same day.

Shin had several accidents on bikes but none on redwill. One day he moves to nearby town to see his friend buy a new bike. Shin test drives his friend’s new ride, shin praises the new ride of his friend. Shin gets a call from his friend, who wants shin’s help for her shopping. While moving back to home, he feels a little different. His ride isn’t how it used to be. Though he notices the difference he ignores it and moves to his home. Shin’s mother asks about selling the bike and buying a new one. Shin agrees for that. He dresses up well for shopping and starts to pick his friend. He starts flying on his bike but he doesn’t seem comfortable again, He doesn’t care as he was planning to sell it. On the long narrow bridge in Bliss town, which is a 2 lane and dual traffic one, where overtaking is prohibited, he is following an Auto-Rickshaw. The Auto-rickshaw is moving slowly and Shin gets frustrated and tries to ovetake. He moves to right and a speeding car is right ahead of him on the other lane. Shin has done that many times, he tries to cut his bike left cooly. If it was for others they would have panicked the second when they see the speeding car straight ahead. Shin maintains his cool believing in Redwill, cuts left. But, redwill doesn’t support him. For the first time in Shin’s Redwill riding life, Redwill skids . As the front tyre is facing left, his bike skids and drags him right. Redwill doesn’t have ABS in it. Shin was shocked in the instant when Redwill didn’t co-operate, he has given up his life. Shin thinks about his love and he sees her smiling, shin closes his eyes and prays for her safety and happiness. Shin hasn’t lost his consciousness in fear, though closing his eyes, knowing Redwill isn’t with him. He could have left Redwill and jumped off the bike, but he chose to stay with Redwill. He crashes to the on coming speeding car. His Right knee slams first to the car’s radiator, then he is on the front windshield hitting his helmet to it and bounces back flying on air crossing the debry and landing on his back.

Shin realizes he’s alive and opens his eyes. 1^st thing he sees is Redwill facing him. Shin knew it’s no way possible for him to be alive at that speed, he remembers his knee hitting the car first, but the bike’s front part is totally damaged, as it was the 1^st thing to get hit. Minimizing the damage to shin. Shin tries to move his leg but he couldn’t even feel it. He can feel his leg getting wet in blood. He closes his eyes and he hears “You and me are not loving the same person”

Shin wakes up, shin is sure he listened it. He know whom it was. He reminds his words praising his friend’s Bike and about selling redwill. He remembers all the adventures they went along. Shin feels ashamed of his actions. Shin stands up forcefully though its so painful for him. He starts the engine, and he is happy that it started.

Shin gets treated and redwill is moved to garage. After treatment shin is back on his foot, but shin couldn’t walk normally as earlier. Shin moves to garage and wants to repair his Redwill. Shin fights with his whole family & wellwishers, about selling Redwill. Shin spends a lot of money to get his Redwill back intact. There are things money can’t buy. Redwill isn’t what it was. Shin lost his driving instincts. Shin couldn’t perform some of his stunts and the swift driving in traffic. Not to mention Shin can’t walk normally anymore. But, Still they watch eachother’s backs.

Her Happiness not Her

A college batch goes for an Expedition. They reach their destination in the evening. Everyone is checking up their rooms & enjoying their time with friends. Some are busy in search of Alcohol, some others busy planning the next day schedule, while some are busy sleeping. Then, there she is. Reading her book in the Balcony of her room. Sitting on the wooden bamboo chair, pulling her hair back from the breeze, with those sensitive cheeks which may turn red even with a feather touch, reading her book with those Gold Fish eyes, only one in her world.

When she was lost in her book world, someone dragged her out. She got disturbed by the noise. She stood up and had a disgusting look at them. There are these guys who are playing football in the lawn of the Hotel. 6 of them are from her college & 4 others are the hotel staff. She couldn't concentrate because of the noise. She left the book there for dinner. While having her dinner, those guys passed by, making a hell of noise. But, she was amazed about how they could make friends already.

Knowing they left, she rushed to her room, to read the book sitting in her balcony. It's already too late, and she is still reading. The noisy environment started turning into a calm one. Even the cricket's sound freaks up the night. She hears some sound and is curious about the source. She picks up her coffee mug & moves to the edge of the balcony & sees a guy still playing. She calls her friend and complains about that guy.
"Why is he so much obsessed, its already midnight and he is still playing with that ball and that too alone. Huh..!"
"You are the one to talk. Why do complain about him when you are so obsessed about this"
Throwing the book on that wooden chair, her friend leaves.
She continued reading the book and falls asleep on the chair.

Passing through the fog, The Sun rays fall on her, and the reflection's more brighter. It's so cold, and she orders a hot coffee immediately. Taking the coffee she moves to the balcony, enjoying the fog, sunrise & coffee combination. All the romance of nature gets disturbed by a gaze into the lawn. The guy, who was playing alone at the night, is sleeping in the lawn hugging the football. She felt amused as he looked like a cute little kid hugging a teddy.

They all move out to the waterfall in the nearby forest. Some are busy trekking, some busy playing with water, while she is searching for a place to read her book. While searching she heard a creepy noise from the bushes. With a little fear inside she peeked to see that football guy taking a piss. She laughs inside and leaves. She finds a tree with big roots and huge branches, perfect for her reading. While about to sit under the tree, she notices another sound, it isn't a pissing sound. She sees a snake. With a scream, she starts running. Hearing the sound, he who was pissing earlier, starts chasing her. Of course, He completed pissing and put his zip on. She, who is already in fear, starts running faster, as she feels the sound's chasing. After running a lot, he catches her and stops her, to get slapped. She sits on a fallen branch in middle of the forest and starts crying. He steps aside holding his face. After couple of minutes, she stops crying. After some time of silence, he stands & looks around.

"What are u searching for?"
"Just checking, how far you ran"

With a pretty face, she asks
"Where are we?"
"In the forest" He replies harshly.

He starts moving
"Where are u going" she asks
"Don't know"
"Then why are you going"
"If I stay here I can't go home" he yells.

It started to become dark. He started collecting some wood and grass.
 "Why are you collecting them?" She asks
" 'cause am bored" He replies
" Why are you angry on me? Ok, I'll shutup. I won't ask a thing"
" Idiot, Stupid, Fool, You ran blindly, You got lost, You hit me and you only start crying, it isn't fair" He cries, and she blushes.

He makes a bed on a tree top, using the wood & grass collected. He brings some forest fruits and after eating he asks her to sleep, while he would be guarding her. At around 2AM, He wakes up. He is ashamed & bit silly inside to see her guarding while he was sleeping. With a silly smile, he started talking. They talked till the sun rise. They got down watching the sun rise. It's again a foggy morning, while they walk, a flash of light catches his attention. Its something which is reflecting the sun light, but the reflection isn't that bright as of a mirror or a glass. He rushes to find what it is, leaving her behind. She chases him. She is slower but she managed to keep his foot tracks in sight. She sees him standing still after running some distance. She slaps him for leaving her alone & running cluelessly. He gives her, her book. He was expecting a hug when she sees the book. But, she takes the book & leaves calmly from there.

They hear their friends' shouting for them, and they start running in the direction of sound. Finally they found their way back. They move to the hotel & get cleaned. She cleans the book as its little muddy and opens it to see "To Bubbly girl"  on the top and "With love" stating his name on the bottom. They continue their expedition, and he follows her all the time to stay with her if at all she gets lost again.

They go to the college back. He wants to express his love to her, with a Rose, he waits in the bike parking opposite to the library. Standing beside the bike with the rose, he waits. The wait started making him bored, he sits on bike, he sleeps, he talks to his bike, he puts the rose on the bike and he is done. He searches some waste papers around and makes a ball with that and starts playing freestyle football. He gets so much involved that, he doesn't notice her coming out of the library. She sees him and of course the bike and the rose on it. Girls definitely observe a lot. She knew that the rose is for her and she puts pace up so that he would chase her a little bit. Girls sure do like it when boys chase them. "You called me Bubbly, you are Foobie" saying that inside her, she crosses the college gate. He has a glance of her & starts his bike to reach her. She wants him to move around her a little bit longer, she tries to cross the road.

She starts crossing the road, with eyes on him riding his bike. She ignores the road & incoming traffic and tries to cross the road, while in hurry & excitement her things fall down. And there's that book of earlier, unaware of a speeding car towards her, she sits to pick her book & other things. Its too late for her to catch the horn sound of the car, she screams aloud in all the fear. BANG.! A collision happens, she opens her eyes to see herself safe. She sees him bleeding on the ground with that rose beside his face. His bike was damaged, she starts crying holding him in her arms. "Foobie..! Foobie..! look into my eyes" she cries. He watches the book where she writes I TOO beside his With Love. He has injuries everywhere, tries to stand up, she tries to help him, but he falls down. He feels the pain in his leg, they both watch his leg. It's a total mess. A damaged leg for a footballer is nothing but end of his life. He closes his eyes and falls asleep. He's taken in ambulance to the nearest hospital. She keeps on visiting daily to check him up.

One day, she comes to check him, and gets tensed to find an empty bed. She tries to find him, she searches in the college, finds his home, he is no where.
He doesn't want her to see him limping, he feels like he is a walking guilt for her. She knows how much he loves football. So It would be more painful for her watching him limping than living in his absence. He left her, he left that girl whom he loved so much. He left that girl for whom he put his life on line. He loves her so much that, He can sacrifice everything thing. His love wants HER HAPPINESS NOT HER.
